There is no dearth of silly accidents that take a lot many lives and which could have been easily saved and even the incident avoided. Fire accidents are among the more common in this category. It is usually because of poor precautionary measure or for that matter a careless and potentially dangerous mistake which have people suffer even fatally in the end. A Belfast coroner was very shocked after getting to know of a fire victim who died due to smoke inhalation. So much so that she has deeply urged people to have a fire escape plan after hearing the inquest of a man who died.
Coroner Joanne Donnelly looking at the unfortunate fate of Newtownards man James Francis, stated that people simply ignore many a things in their lives, which quite often prove to be fatal. For once, it can be impossible to get out of a burning house in total darkness, to cite an example. This is where the coroner urges them to have a better fire escape plan in place at their homes which would help them avoid any terrible tragedy. The eighty four year old man died last May 10.

Fire officer spoke of how he could have saved himself if his back door hadn’t been locked on the outside. The Fire and Rescue Service is thus telling people to be more responsible and take care of themselves.
