COAST GUARD IN US SEES INTO THE DIVING ACCIDENT

The US coast guards have got involved into a matter of death of a diver. He was apparently found to be unresponsive while a boat hull's cleaning. He incident took place on the 8th of January 2011 when the man Matt Smock was fond to be unresponsive as much. This was on Saturday afternoon. The unit on the ship in the mean while did everything they could to save his life, even giving him a cardiopulmonary resuscitation as the ship hurried to dock at Pier 9 in Galveston. Unfortunately they were not able to save the life of the young man who was all of thirty years old. He was eventually taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch.

It was the Galveston firefighters who again strived to simply rush him to the medical facility in an ambulance.In a later statement issued by a fire official he went of how the accident took place because of a mechanical malfunction. The man was however declared to be dead at 1:37 p.m. John Florence from the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office stated this.

The man was apparently using a scrubbing machine to clean of the ship’s hull. He was also diving a good ten miles from the jetties. The body’s autopsy was soon to be performed which would give out further more details on the exact cause of death whatever it be. As of now there is nothing fishy about the incident and rather to be an unfortunate and plain accident. The Coast Guard which has a Marine Safety Unit in the city of Texas is looking into the matter keeping everything under the scanner. Petty Officer Richard Brahm from the department also stated that as of now things don’t look like there is someone to be blamed for this but rather to be unfortunate as it is. The vessel on which Smock was working was the King Arthur. It is a commercial diving vessel.

Fire officer spoke of how he could have saved himself if his back door hadn’t been locked on the outside.
